MINGLE | Mission for Indian Gay & Lesbian Empowerment


MINGLE (Mission for Indian Gay & Lesbian Empowerment), is India's first LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) non-profit think-tank consisting of academicians, professionals and students from fields as diverse as Arts & Humanities, Science, Journalism, Law, Medicine, Management and Engineering. Its vision is a truly liberal and pluralistic India where all citizens enjoy their fundamental right to lead a secure and dignified life irrespective of their sexual orientation and gender identity.

Over the last four years of existence, MINGLE has partnered with Community organizations, Businesses and Universities across India, acting as a catalyst for positive change for LGBT Indians and their families and friends.

  • Anjali Gopalan

    Anjali Gopalan
    (Advisor, Legal and Health issues),,
    the Founder and Executive Director of The Naz Foundation (India) Trust, an NGO dedicated to the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic in India.

  • Arvind Narain
    (Advisor, Legal Issues),
    is Head of Alternative Law Forum, Bangalore and one of the prominent lawyers fighting the Section 377 case in the Supreme Court of India.

  • Harish Iyer
    (Advisor, Family Issues),
    is a rights activist from Mumbai and has been a vocal voice for LGBT Indians.

  • Aditya Bandopadhya
    is a lawyer and gay rights activist based in New Delhi.

  • Stephen Golden
    (Advisor, Workplace Diversity Issues),
    is the Head of Diversity (Asia), for Goldman & Sachs and is based from Hong Kong.

  • Ali Potia
    (Advisor, Workplace Diversity Issues),
    is Co-Lead (Asia) of GLAM network at McKinsey & Company, Singapore.

  • Parmesh Shahani,
    (Advisor, Workplace Diversity Issues),
    heads the Godrej India Culture Lab and also serves as the Editor-at-large for Verve magazine. He is author of the book Gay Bombay, a Yale World Fellow, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and a TED Fellow.

  • Vivek Anand,
    is the Chief Executive Officer of the Humsafar Trust, a community-based grassroots organization addressing health and social concerns of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities in Mumbai.

  • Udayan Dhar
    (Head- Strategy, and Diversity Consultant) ,
    is a Diversity and Talent expert who has worked previously with Godrej and Infosys. He pioneered the Indian LGBT Youth Leadership Summit in 2014, and is also the editor of Pink Pages since 2009. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA.

  • Ramkrishna Sinha
    (Lead- Design, Youth Summit),
    works with Intel where he is member of the Diversity & Inclusion team and leads the LGBT Employee Resource Group, along with the day job of a Graphics Hardware Engineer. He is currently compiling coming out stories from India of allies & LGBTQ+ individuals www.101comingoutstories.com

  • Abhijeet Yadav
    works with Zaya Learning Labs, a social enterprise aims to bridge the learning gap through its innovative blended learning program in low income private schools across globe.

  • Sandeep Harchowdhury
    (Media & Communications),
    is into IT training for the past 20 years. He is also interested in clinical psychology which he has academically pursued enthusiastically in the last few years. He writes short stories which invariably have a gay theme.

  • Shweta Aggarwal
    (Project Manager),,
    is into IT Industry from the past 7 years and is currently working with Deloitte as an IT Consultant. She is volunteering/interviewing for organizations working toward LGBT community. She is a part-time Food Reviewer/Travel Photographer by passion.

  • Sunny Gupta
    (Human Resources),
    Holds 5+ years of experience in Human Resource Management. He is a co-founder of Sparsh Indore; a local LBGTQ support group and is an enthusiast to work for LGBTQIA equality.

  • Yogita Singh
    (Human Resources),
    works with the NGO- The Earth Saver Foundation. She is an MBA in Human Resource management, and has worked in the field of education and development.

  • Gaurav Meshram
    (IT & Design),
    is a web developer and designer with four years of expertise in his field where he has developed over 50 websites. He’s recently started his own firm Six Pixels that provides software solutions and web development specifically for LGBT friendly businesses.
